Rescheduled Holiday Ride and Lunch
February 10th

Our annual end-of-season holiday ride and get-together has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb 10, with a rain-date of Sunday, Feb 11 (we'll make the final-date announcement during the days preceding that weekend). Originally planned for Dec 16, you may recall there was foul weather that day so we canceled. Instead, we will run a new post-holidays holiday ride to celebrate Groundhog's and Valentine's Days (Valendog? Groundtine?)

The plan is to meet at the Southfield Shopping Center in West Windsor Township, NJ. We will meet for breakfast bagels and coffee at Grover Mill Coffee Co (295 Princeton Hightstown Rd, West Windsor Township, NJ 08550) starting around 7am, and will then ride the Millstone River Ramble 100k starting at 8am.
At the conclusion of the ride, we will meet for lunch across the street from the start at Classico Tomato Pies (hey, in NJ what normal people call pizza they call tomato pie) at 358 Princeton Hightstown Rd, West Windsor Township, NJ 08550
The club will provide beer and wine, but each person will pay for his/her own food.
The start/finish is about 4 miles from the Princeton Junction train station, for easy access for NYC riders.
All RUSA members are welcome to join us (insurance needed for group rides . . . if you wish to join RUSA, go to www.rusa.org). Please RSVP to JB Levitt (askjbl at_yahoo_dot_com) so we’ll have an idea of whom to expect, and so route owner Paul Shapiro can have brevet cards, cue sheets, and waivers ready for all who wish to ride.

2018 Calendar of Events

April 14th - Batsto 200k - Egg Harbor Township, NJ

For the second consecutive year we will open our season with a South Jersey 200k.  This flat brevet was much enjoyed by the twenty-six finishers in 2017 despite some occasional rainfall.   Once again the Lower Bank Tavern will host the start / finish and the post ride lunch.

April 28th - Cranbury 200k - Cranbury, NJ

This classic tour of the Jersey Shore is our largest attended event of the year. Held in late April for the hope of mild temperatures and sunny skies.  The mostly flat route visits many of the popular shore areas before the big crowds arrive.   Sixty-two riders reached the finish last year,  Once again we will use the Italian Touch Restaurant to host the finish line and offer free Pizza and Beer.

May 12th - Princeton 300k - Princeton, NJ

Prepare for some hilly terrain with this Classic route which dates back to the beginning of New Jersey Randonnuers.   There are some big climbs en-route to the northern regions of the state.  The most notable being Jenny Jump Mountain near Hope, NJ.   This was last held in 2016 with twenty-eight riders reaching the finish.

May 19th - Jersey Devil 300k - Hammonton, NJ

This event was newly introduced last year and was a smashing success. Thirty-six riders enjoyed every mile of the flat south Jersey route.  The start and finish was hosted by the Econo-Lodge with Pizza and beer offered at the finish.  There were some fast times posted with all starters finishing successfully.

June 2nd - Wildwood 400k - East Windsor, NJ

Time for more shore riding with this route, which was used for the first time last year.   All twenty-six starters would successfully find their way around the flat route to reach the finish despite some rainfall early on.  The Days Inn is our host for the event.

June 30th - Princeton 600k - Princeton, NJ

For the third year in a row we will hold this challenging two-loop 600k, with a re-desinged second loop.  The first loop is 217 miles venturing to the hills of Pennsylvania.  Upon return to the Clarion Hotel for some food and sleep riders will undertake a second 156 mile flat loop to the Pinelands region, and Tuckerton Seaport.  There is a 25 rider limit. Registration opens in May.

July 21st - New Jersey Arrow -  24 Hour Team Event

We bring back this team event which was held once before in 2016.  July is a fine time of year for a 24 hour point to point brevet.  Teams design their own route starting anywhere they choose.  All teams will converge at 22 hours in Hillsborough, NJ for breakfast.   A 14 mile final ride to Pete's Bike Shop in Flemington, NJ will conclude the event with food, music and prizes.

More detailed information on the above events is available on the Events page of this web-site.

We look forward to seeing you!
